Artist Statement
"I’m an artist driven by curiosity, gratitude, and a deep love of connection. My work is about slowing down and truly seeing — capturing the beauty and emotion in everyday moments, and sharing that sense of wonder with others.
Through painting, teaching, and creative retreats, I invite people to explore the world — and themselves — with curiosity and intention."
Education & Background
Jennifer Mathews earned her B.F.A. from UCLA, and spent the next several years pursuing a career in graphic design. In 2011 she earned a certificate in Art4Healing® from Chapman/Brandman University and founded HEART HEALS Therapeutic Art.
Jennifer is represented by Golden Pine Gallery in Idyllwild, CA. Her work has appeared many juried art shows, and is found in private collections across the country. A Southern California impressionist oil painter & teacher, Jennifer also enjoys bringing students on painting adventures both internationally and in the US. She lives and works from her home studio in Newport Beach, CA and at Roadrunner Art Studio in Twentynine Palms, CA.
